Renew your Pack, Troop, Team, Crew or Ship Charter
Beginning October 1, a representative of each unit can complete the paperwork for renewing a charter online. From Internet Rechartering, you can indicate returning members, add new members and update information for an individual or the chartered organization.
Youth Protection Training Requirement
- Youth Protection training is required for all BSA registered volunteers, regardless of their position.
- New leaders are required to take Youth Protection training before submitting an application for registration. The certificate of completion for this training must be submitted at the time the application is made and before volunteer service with youth begins.
- Youth Protection training must be taken every two years. If a volunteer's Youth Protection training record is not current at the time of recharter, the volunteer will not be re-registered.
- Youth Protection training can be taken in an instructor-led class or online at my.Scouting.org.

Online Charter Renewal
NOTE: It is unlawful to provide false or misleading information on youth or adult leader applications. All information must be complete and accurate. Each adult leader is subject to a detailed background check utilizing their social security number. An inaccurate social security number will cause rejection of the application and result in unnecessary costs to the Scout Council. Please make sure that all information provided is accurate before submitting charter.
Online rechartering is compatible with Packmaster and Troopmaster. If you use another software please contact your District Executive to make sure your software is compatible.
