What is the Order Of The Arrow (OA)?

The Order of the Arrow is the national honor society of the Boy Scouts of America. For over 100 years, the Order of the Arrow (OA) has recognized Scouts and Scouters who best exemplify the Scout Oath and Law in their daily lives. This recognition provides encouragement for others to live these ideals as well. Arrowmen are known for maintaining camping traditions and spirit, promoting year-round and long-term resident camping, developing leaders, and providing cheerful service to others. OA service, activities, adventures, and training for youth and adults are models of quality leadership development and programming that enrich, support, and help to extend Scouting to America's youth.

Thursday OA Meeting Night

Hello, Fellow Arrowmen!

Be sure you are at our Chapter meeting this Thursday, May 18, at 7pm! We will be doing something a bit more unconventional at this meeting, so come on out to see what it is! We will be meeting at the same place as usual.

We will be getting ready for the next Ordeal’s Sash and Bash on June 3, and signing up all you Brotherhood Candidates for this Saturday’s Brotherhood workday and induction ceremony!

Also, don’t forget to pay your dues. You can go do that at the lodge website.

If you bring an Arrowman to this meeting who has never been to a Chapter meeting before, there will be a special treat for YOU!
See you all there!

Remember to add this to your Google Calendar or iCal!

May Ordeal Information

Hi, everyone!   Our first Ordeal is coming up this weekend at Mataguay Scout Ranch, and we need Elangomats. Not only is this a great opportunity for you all to give some service and help to welcome our new brothers, but you can also get an award for it at Banquet! Please respond to the email if you would like to get in on this; we're going to need _3___ Elangomats for this weekend.   Also, if you haven't paid your dues for 2017, here is a link where you can do so.     I am waiting for everyone to get these in to do the fun exciting surprise I promised, and until I hear otherwise, I'm going to assume there's still one more person.   Yours in Service, Frederick Persons Naabaahii Chapter Chief

Chapter Update - April

Hey, everyone!

For those who were not at the meeting this past Thursday, we did a brief Elangomat training and discussed future events in the lodge. Speaking of which, the first Ordeal of the year is coming up in two weeks! You need to go onto Doubleknot register here. You will not be able to eat if they do not know you are coming. We are going to have a display board there talking about ceremony teams and what they do in the Lodge as a part of an event called Sash 'n' Bash.

For those who don't know what this is, all the various chapters in Tiwahe lodge have created poster boards explaining and illustrating different areas of the OA. As a chapter, we have created a board that talks about ceremony teams. These boards are displayed during and after the Saturday night feast for parents to look at and read so they know what their son is getting into.

Anyways, to get to the point, I'd like to ask for a couple Arrowmen (not including the ceremony team, who will be walking around in costume) who would be willing and able to stand by the board and answer questions.

Finally, it was promised to you all during the March meeting that we would give you a surprise reward once everyone in the chapter has their dues paid. To my knowledge, this has not been completely achieved yet. If you would like to get that special surprise, please make sure you have paid your dues for the year (it's only $12.50 per arrowman!).
